Letter of Introduction

Dear Cooperating Teacher,

My name is Cody Biever and I am from the University of Regina studying Middle Years Education. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in the classroom for my pre-internship year and I am very excited to join your classroom in the fall.

I have lots of experience working with children. I have worked as a Water Safety Instructor which allowed me to teach swimming lessons to children aged 6 months to 16 years old for a couple summers during high school. Following my time as a WSI, I volunteered as an assistant coach for the Regina Minor Football League. My role was to coach the defensive backs to help them learn the fundamentals of their position. After completing my Kinesiology degree in the summer of 2016, I worked as an Instructional Assistant for the Regina Catholic School System during the 2016/2017 school year. During my time with the RCSD I substituted in many schools where I worked with children of all different ages, most around grades 4-8, though I have experience on either side. In March of 2017 I was offered a full time position at St. Joan of Arc. In that school I had the opportunity to work with the vast majority of the students in attendance ranging from grades 1-7. In September of 2017 I started to study for my Education Degree. During this degree I have had the opportunity to work with a grade 4/5 classroom for one day per week for 8 weeks, which is my most recent experience. Currently, I am preparing for my 3 week block with that same classroom.

I would be happy to further discuss my experience in person as a one page summary barely scratches the surface. I would also like to thank you for your interest in working with me. I can hardly wait to begin my internship.

Sincerely,

Cody Biever
